New Design System
Aligned

Analytics view for “Top rooms” and visitor activity, showing the rounded cards, soft color palette, and typography system that define Aligned’s friendly, non-corporate look.

Room content view for features and case studies, reusing the same card structure, spacing, and visual language to keep the experience cohesive even in a very different part of the product.
Development of a comprehensive design system for Aligned, a collaborative sales platform. The goal was to create a system that could scale with the product while keeping the experience warm and approachable, rather than another generic, “dashboard-y” SaaS UI.

Ensuring consistency, efficiency, and scalability across the platform while deliberately avoiding the typical, copy-pasted look of modern SaaS products. Aligned’s product lives in high-stakes client conversations, so the interface needed to feel rounded, friendly, and human. This meant I couldn’t simply fork an existing open design system; the system had to be built from first principles to match our brand and use cases.
While breaking down the interface into its smallest elements, I shared the process in a LinkedIn post that sparked a discussion about modular design and originality in SaaS. The feedback reinforced the decision to design our own components and tokens instead of relying on Material/Ant-style libraries, ensuring even the smallest UI elements felt distinctively “Aligned”.
Established a unified design language that improved efficiency in both design and development.
Created reusable components and tokens that support a soft, rounded, friendly visual style while still being highly systematic.
Enabled the development team to adopt the design system effectively, fostering better collaboration and faster delivery.
Helped Aligned stand out visually in a crowded market of look-alike SaaS tools.
